Severe storms with 40mph winds and pea-sized hail hit Connecticut on Friday, causing nearly 2,000 power outages. Eversource, the state's largest electricity provider, reported 3,217 outages at 9:37 pm, with the majority in Plainville and other towns. The National Weather Service issued flood advisories for Fairfield and New Haven counties, warning of possible minor flooding in low-lying areas until midnight.
