82-year-old John Bennett, known as Northern Ireland's "broadcasting lynchpin", passed away. Born in Belfast, he had a five-decade career with the BBC, co-founding BBC Radio Ulster in 1974 and hosting "The Sunday Club" for over 44 years. Bennett was awarded an MBE in January 2023 for services to television and radio broadcasting and is survived by his daughter and son.
