Greece formally approved the purchase of 20 F-35 Joint Strike Fighters from the US as part of a major defense overhaul. The deal is expected to start delivering the fifth-generation jets made by Lockheed Martin in 2028. Greece maintains the option to purchase an additional 20 F-35 jets as part of an $8.6bn deal. The purchase of the first 20 jets, along with additional support, will cost around $3.5bn.
