NASA's Webb Space Telescope discovers a super Jupiter planet, Epsilon Indi Ab, 12 light-years away with a century-long orbit and 6x Jupiter's mass.
NASA's Webb Space Telescope has discovered a super Jupiter planet, roughly the same diameter as Jupiter but with six times its mass, orbiting a star approximately 12 light-years away. This super Jupiter, named Epsilon Indi Ab, takes more than a century to orbit its star, which is 15 times farther from its star than Earth is to the Sun. The findings, published in the journal Nature, were collected by an international team led by Max Planck Institute for Astronomy's Elisabeth Matthews in Germany.
