Indiana Michigan Power files new resource plan with Michigan Public Service Commission, retaining Cook nuclear plant and adding solar, wind, and natural gas, targeting net-zero carbon by 2045.

Indiana Michigan Power (I&M) has filed a new generation resource plan with the Michigan Public Service Commission, aiming to meet customer electricity demands while moving towards its goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2045. The plan retains the Cook nuclear power plant as its anchor but adds new solar, wind, and natural gas generation, focusing on affordability, reliability, sustainability, and resource diversification. I&M will not own or operate the solar, wind, and natural gas facilities, as they are purchasing agreements.
