26 care home residents were moved from Ashcroft as a precautionary measure due to the Shetland Creek wildfire. Interior Health (IH) announced on July 19 that 21 residents from Jackson House long-term care facility and five residents from nearby Thompson View Lodge assisted living facility were relocated to alternate locations due to potential fire-related impacts on health facilities and clients in Ashcroft.
