Residents of Venables Valley, southwest of Ashcroft, are waiting anxiously for information about structure loss in their community after the Shetland Creek wildfire swept through Saranagati village on July 17. Damodar Paquette, who was evacuated with his family, says, "We've heard there is structure loss, but we're uncertain of the numbers, and the fire is still doing its thing."
