1 September, UK launches RSV vaccination program targeting pregnant women over 28 weeks and those aged 75-79.

The UK is introducing a national vaccination program to protect both infants and older adults from Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), a common and highly infectious respiratory virus. Starting from 1 September, the program will target pregnant women over 28 weeks and those aged 75 to 79, with a one-off campaign for people aged 75 to 79 and a routine programme for those over 75. The vaccination programme aims to protect thousands of vulnerable people from severe infection, reducing hospitalizations and GP visits, and eases pressure on the National Health Service (NHS) during the winter months.
