Australia's Immunisation Foundation calls for a national RSV immunisation program due to increased child hospitalisations.

Australia's Immunisation Foundation is urging a national RSV immunisation program, as the virus leads to more children being hospitalised than any illness in Australia. RSV immunisation is already being supplied for babies in Western Australia, New South Wales, and Queensland in 2024, but it could take until 2025 to be added to the National Immunisation Program. The program, funded by the federal government, would provide infants with convenient and cost-free access to RSV immunisation.
