LGFA ordered to pay €5,000 compensation and establish an age dispensation policy for disabled children by WRC for age discrimination against a young girl with cerebral palsy.
Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) ordered to pay €5,000 compensation to a young girl with cerebral palsy for prohibiting her from playing competitive matches due to age. Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) ruled LGFA discriminated against her on disability grounds and didn't provide reasonable accommodation. WRC directed LGFA to establish an age dispensation policy for children with disabilities up to under-12s within six months, in compliance with Equal Status Acts 2000-2015.
