Delhi High Court allowed a 31-year-old woman to terminate her 30-week pregnancy after diagnosis of 'Joubert Syndrome', a severe neuro-developmental disorder, by AIIMS medical board. The court stated that women should not be compelled to carry pregnancies to term if there are serious risks to the unborn child's health. The Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act supports a woman's right to terminate a pregnancy under medically justified circumstances.
