8-year-old African lion Boboo from the Phoenix Zoo was euthanized due to an aggressive form of cancer affecting his kidneys and spleen. The lion, a popular attraction, showed no signs of illness during an annual exam a month prior. Boboo arrived at the Phoenix Zoo from the Columbus Zoo in 2019 and had recently bred with female lion Zuri, who recently gave birth to two healthy cubs.
