15-year-old African lion Chuma at Greenville Zoo euthanized due to health issues.

Greenville Zoo euthanizes remaining African lion due to degenerative joint disease and spinal issues. Chuma, a 15-year-old lion, had a rapid decline in health, and the zoo staff made the difficult decision to humanely euthanize him. His half-brother Saied was euthanized in March for similar health problems. Both lions were 15 years old and came to Greenville in 2010 from Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia.
