A Florida family discovered a massive 6.5-inch megalodon tooth during a fossil hunting trip near Charleston, South Carolina with Palmetto Fossil Excursions. The tooth belonged to a shark around 60-65 feet long, according to the tour group's co-owner Skye Basak. The family, who were driving to Tennessee for a baseball tournament, made the incredible find while stopping by South Carolina for fossil hunting.
