Last December, Tieqiao Zhang visited Parkland Health's Urgent Care Emergency Center after experiencing severe stomach pain. He believed it was an urgent care center, but the clinic also had a separate emergency room on the same campus. A CAT scan revealed Zhang had a kidney stone, which a physician said would pass naturally within a few days. However, five days later, Zhang's pain worsened, raising questions about the distinction between urgent care centers and emergency rooms.
