California labor regulators fined Amazon $5.9m for not providing written notice of quotas to employees, violating the Warehouse Quota Law.

California labor regulators have fined Amazon $5.9 million for violating a state law aimed at preventing warehouse workers from being pushed to work so quickly that their health and safety are at risk. The company was fined for not providing written notice of quotas to employees at two warehouses in Southern California, in violation of the Warehouse Quota Law, which took effect in 2022. The law requires employers to provide employees with written descriptions of quotas if they can be disciplined for failing to complete jobs at a specified speed.
