World Bank-appointed expert and Pakistani delegation visit Jammu and Kashmir from June 17-28 to discuss hydroelectric projects under 1960 Indus Water Treaty.
A World Bank-appointed neutral expert and a Pakistani delegation will visit Jammu and Kashmir from June 17 to 28 to discuss and examine hydroelectric projects, including the 330 MW Kishanganga and the upcoming 850 MW Ratle project. The visit comes after Pakistan objected to India's hydroelectric power projects, stating that water discharge would be reduced. The visit is part of the dispute resolution mechanism under the 1960 Indus Water Treaty.
