Sainsbury's is replacing plastic trays with recyclable cardboard ones for its own-brand chicken and fish products, aiming to cut plastic usage by 70% annually. This change is estimated to save 694 tonnes of plastic. The new packaging made from sugarcane pulp lined with polyethylene film will be introduced across the retailer's 'Taste the Difference' and 'by Sainsbury's' breaded chicken lines and 'Taste the Difference' breaded fish fillets.
