Researchers from the Royal Canadian Geographical Society have discovered the wreck of Ernest Shackleton's final expedition ship, the Quest, off the coast of Labrador. The ship was found using sonar scans 80 kilometers from shore, at a depth of 390 meters from the surface. The towering mast of the ship is broken and lying beside the wreck, but the vessel appears to be in "incredible condition." Shackleton was aboard the Quest when he died in 1922, and the ship was later used for Arctic research and sealing before it was damaged by ice and sank in 1962.
