BC introduces new safe-passing law with minimum distances for drivers around vulnerable road users.
BC introduces new safe-passing law, setting minimum distances for drivers to keep from vulnerable road users, including cyclists, pedestrians, motorcyclists, electric scooter and wheelchair users. The law requires a one-metre distance in areas with speed limits of 50 km/h or less, and 1.5 metres in higher-speed zones. The goal of the legislation is to enhance safety and encourage active transportation.
