British Columbia mandates speed-limiting devices for commercial trucks over 11,793 kg, effective from April 5.

Starting April 5, British Columbia will require commercial trucks weighing over 11,793 kg and built after 1994 to be fitted with speed-limiting devices, limiting their speed to 105 km/h. The requirement stems from amendments to the Motor Vehicle Act announced last year and aims to improve road safety for the trucking industry. Violators who do not have a device or one that's not programmed correctly will face a fine.
