New Zealand conducts a nationwide Emergency Mobile Alert system test on May 26, 6-7pm.

New Zealand is conducting a nationwide test of the Emergency Mobile Alert system on May 26 from 6pm to 7pm. The test aims to evaluate the system, cell towers, and mobile phones' ability to receive alerts. NEMA director John Price advises recipients to take the alerts seriously, as they inform users of emergencies, agency sent messages, and additional resources. The test does not replace other methods of staying informed and is not a cause for alarm.
