The Earthquake Commission (EQC) has been rebranded as the Natural Hazards Commission Toka Tū Ake, broadening its scope to cover a wider range of natural hazards such as tsunamis, landslips, volcanic activity, and geothermal events. The new Act aims to protect homeowners by clarifying entitlements and improving the claims process, ensuring reliable insurance cover and efficient claim payments.
