New Zealand's government plans to enhance its emergency management system over the next five years, responding to findings from the North Island Severe Weather Events Inquiry. Emergency Management Minister Mark Mitchell announced a roadmap focusing on a whole-of-society approach, local government support, workforce professionalization, inter-agency cooperation, and strategic investment.
