26-year-old dad, Christopher Rolfe, was seriously injured when five 600kg hay bales fell on him at Polesden Lacey Farm in Surrey. Rolfe was collecting bales for local customers when the accident occurred. He suffered pelvis, leg, and rib fractures. The Health and Safety Executive found that the bales had been stored on pallets above a damp barn floor. Rolfe's farming partnership was fined £36k for the incident.
