UCLA Academic Senate rejects censure or "no confidence" vote against Chancellor.

The UCLA Academic Senate rejected motions to censure or issue a "no confidence" vote against Chancellor Gene Block, despite criticism over the university's response to a violent mob attack at a pro-Palestinian campus encampment. The votes, which needed a majority to succeed, failed with 79 and 88 faculty members approving the motions respectively. The decision is largely symbolic and has no legal authority over Block's position.
