Pakistan's Islamabad High Court clarified that its injunction on blocking SIMs was not against tax non-filers, but to prevent action against private telecom companies.
Pakistan's Islamabad High Court (IHC) clarified that its injunction in a case pertaining to the blocking of SIMs was meant to prevent action against private telecom companies and not against blocking SIMs of tax non-filers. The IHC's previous order had only stopped the government from blocking SIMs of those who did not pay their taxes till May 27. The court's decision was in response to the federal government's miscellaneous petition seeking dismissal of the stay order on blocking mobile phone SIMs of non-filers.
