The UK government plans to invest £86 million in a new wind turbine test facility in Blyth, Northumberland, creating the world's most advanced wind turbine testing facility. The Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult facility, set to test and certify turbine blades up to 150 metres in length, aims to accelerate product development, create high-skilled jobs, and establish the UK as a leader in future technologies and a global capital for wind power. The facility is expected to strengthen the UK's energy security, contribute to cleaner energy solutions, and help reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
