108-meter turbine blade launched for RWE's Sofia offshore wind farm, set to generate 1.4 GW of renewable energy by 2026.

German energy company RWE has launched the first 108-meter turbine blade for its Sofia offshore wind farm, located 195 kilometers off England's northeast coast. The project, featuring 100 Siemens Gamesa 14-megawatt turbines, aims to be operational by late 2026 and will generate 1.4 gigawatts of renewable energy, enough to power approximately 1.2 million UK homes annually. The initiative also includes recyclable blades on some turbines.
