10th European Stroke Organisation Conference study finds higher income and education level reduce post-stroke mortality risk.

10th European Stroke Organisation Conference study reveals that higher income and education level reduce post-stroke mortality risk. Data from 6,901 Swedish patients showed a 32% lower risk for high-income individuals and a 26% lower risk for those with higher education. Patients with one unfavorable socioeconomic determinant of health (SDoH) factor faced an 18% higher risk of mortality, escalating to 24% for those with two to four SDoH factors. The study also linked increased mortality risk to additional factors such as physical inactivity, diabetes, alcohol abuse, and atrial fibrillation.
