82-year-old Haider Akbar Khan Rono, an advisor to Bangladesh's Communist Party and renowned leftist politician, passed away after a long illness. Born in 1942, Rono was involved with the Communist Party's activities from the 1960s and served as the General Secretary of the 'East Pakistan Students Union.' He authored numerous books on politics, economics, and literature, and received the prestigious 'Bangla Academy Sahittya Purashkar' award in 2022.
