69-year-old Atul Kumar Anjaan, Communist Party of India (CPI) general secretary and Kisan Sabha leader, passed away after a battle with advanced-stage cancer. Anjaan began his political career at Lucknow University Students Union in 1977, and later served as Lucknow University Students Union President four times. Leaders of various political parties and social workers expressed their grief over his demise.
