Tasmanian art museum MONA plans to appeal a tribunal order to either close its "Ladies Lounge" or make it open to all.
MONA, a popular Tasmanian art museum, plans to appeal a tribunal order to either close its "Ladies Lounge" or make it open to all, citing the need to challenge the law for art and legal reasons. The lounge, designed by artist Kirsha Kaechele, was created to symbolize women's exclusion from male-dominated parts of society and the art world. The museum has been given 28 days to stop refusing entry to those who do not identify as female.
