25-year-old Lily Ridgeway's manslaughter conviction for stabbing Jason Adams in 2020 has been overturned; a third trial is ordered.
Lily Ridgeway's manslaughter conviction for the stabbing death of Jason Adams in 2020 has been overturned, with her released on bail ahead of a third trial. Ridgeway, 25, was previously found guilty of manslaughter, but her self-defense claim was rejected by two juries in NSW Supreme Court trials in 2021 and 2022. She was initially sentenced to a maximum of seven years and seven months, with a non-parole period of five years, but following her appeal to the Court of Criminal Appeal and a hearing, the conviction has been quashed and a re-trial ordered.
