France unveiled plans to expand offshore wind capacity sixfold by 2035, aiming to catch up with neighboring countries and accelerate progress towards climate targets. Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire announced a series of tenders and incentives, including a call for 2.5 GW of offshore wind tenders, as part of the strategy. France currently has just 3 GW of marine wind farms in operation or under construction.
