Nigerian Copyright Commission launches ABC Action Plan for a year-long reading campaign on World Book and Copyright Day.
The Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) has launched an action plan, the ABC Action Plan, for a year-long campaign to promote reading for pleasure and raise awareness about copyright. The plan was launched on World Book and Copyright Day and featured eight secondary schools and one primary school in Oyo State, including schools for the blind, reading books by Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka. NCC also suggested declaring July 13, Soyinka's birthday, as Nigeria's National Reading Day.
