9 mental health patients escaped from Ingutsheni Hospital in Zimbabwe by removing burglar bars. 3 have since been accounted for, with some returning to the hospital in the care of relatives. Acting chief executive Wellington Ranga confirmed the incident and stated that stabilized patients may be granted leave of absence to go home with relatives for 2 weeks as a way of reintegrating them into the community.
