Mental health patients in Wells, Somerset are being relocated to a new ward in Yeovil, 20 miles away, as the St. Andrew's mental health ward in Wells is set to close. The decision was made in August 2020 by NHS Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and faced backlash from local residents and health campaigners. NHS Somerset has confirmed the final preparations at the new ward, which has 15 in-patient beds, are complete.
