European Space Agency (ESA) adds 5 new astronauts in its fourth class since 1978, bringing the total to 11. The new astronauts have completed a year of basic training, including intense physical and mental exercises, and will be eligible for missions to the International Space Station. ESA has negotiated with NASA for three places on future Artemis moon missions, but these are likely to go to more senior astronauts.
