Italian PM Giorgia Meloni condemns surrogate parenthood as "inhuman" and likens it to treating children as "supermarket products", urging parliament to pass a stricter ban on it. Meloni's Brothers of Italy party is proposing a bill to prohibit Italians from having a baby in countries where surrogacy is legal, and to make the practice a universal crime. Parenting via surrogacy is already illegal in Italy, punishable with jail and fines.
