Italy expands program to remove children from mafia families in Sicily and Campania regions.

Italy has expanded a contentious program to remove children from mafia families, aiming to halt the transmission of criminal behavior to new generations. Initiated in 2012, the program will now extend to Sicily and Campania regions, home to the Cosa Nostra and Camorra mafias. Authorities can only remove a child if they prove physical or mental danger from family's criminality. The program intends to remove children from mob culture and give them a chance to live normally.
