Biden administration approves $6.6B for TSMC.

The Biden administration has agreed to provide up to $6.6 billion to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) to expand their facilities in Arizona and produce advanced microchips domestically. The funding is part of the CHIPS and Science Act and will support TSMC's investment of over $65 billion in three greenfield fabs in Phoenix, Arizona. The new facilities will produce the world's most sophisticated 2-nanometer chips, and the agreement also dedicates $50 million of CHIPS funding to training and developing the local workforce.
