TSMC's Arizona plant yields higher than Taiwan, boosting US semiconductor manufacturing efforts.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) has reported that its Arizona plant's production yields are 4% higher than those at its Taiwan facilities, a positive sign for U.S. semiconductor manufacturing efforts. The company is seeking $6.6 billion in grants and $5 billion in loans to build three fabrication plants in Arizona. Successful yields may lead TSMC to consider further expansion in the U.S. as part of the CHIPS Act initiative.
