47,000 disabled children and young people in Scotland are transitioned from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to be paid directly by Social Security Scotland, as part of a new benefit system. The Child Disability Payment, which benefits 76,000 disabled children and young people, is also provided with a devolved review system based on "dignity, fairness and respect".
