82% of Japanese firms involved in the 2025 World Expo in Osaka are concerned about low public interest in the event, according to a Kyodo News survey. Less than 50% felt Japan's planned spending of 235 billion yen for the expo venue's construction was reasonable. The event, which will run from April 13 to Oct. 13 next year, has been criticized for its rising costs and slow construction of pavilions by overseas participants.
