Irish Health Minister considers capping secretary-general salaries following ICTU's public-sector pay deal.

Irish Health Minister Simon Harris has indicated that a cap on the salaries of secretaries-general of government departments could be considered. This comes after the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) ratified a new public-sector pay deal, raising Department of Health Secretary-General Robert Watt's salary to €326,000 by 2026. Harris stated that the issue of secretary-general pay warrants future consideration.
