Equinor completes partial electrification of Norway's Sleipner and Gudrun platforms, reducing CO2 emissions by 160,000 tonnes annually.

Equinor has completed the partial electrification of Norway's Sleipner field centre and the Gudrun platform, reducing annual CO2 emissions from the Norwegian Continental Shelf by 160,000 tonnes. Electrification of Utsira High installations, including the Johan Sverdrup, Gina Krog, Sleipner, Gudrun, Edvard Grieg, and Ivar Aasen fields, will save 1.2 million tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. Equinor aims to fully operate on power from shore in the future for a low-emission production approach.
