Equinor's Troll gas field set a production record in 2024, increasing output and cutting emissions.

Equinor's Troll gas field in the North Sea set a new production record in 2024, delivering 42.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas, a nearly 10% increase from the previous year. The field, a significant contributor to Europe's energy supply, also saw a reduction in CO2 emissions by about 90,000 tonnes due to partial electrification of its platforms. Equinor plans further expansion to boost production, investing around $1.06 billion to increase output by about 55 billion cubic meters.
