Xinjiang's landlocked region expands aquaculture with 10 ton crab larvae introduction in Nanping Reservoir.

The aquatic products industry in China's landlocked Xinjiang region is experiencing growth due to increased demand. In Moyu county, near the Taklimakan Desert, 10 metric tons of crab larvae were recently put in Nanping Reservoir, which holds snowmelt water from the Kunlun Mountains, creating ideal conditions for crab farming. Moyu now has 123 freshwater aquaculture ponds that can produce up to 3,800 tons of aquatic products annually.
