19-year-old Niles man, Lawrence Edward Slaughter, has pleaded guilty to possessing a loaded 9mm Glock pistol with a machine gun conversion device, an illegal fully automatic weapon, as a convicted felon. Probation officers discovered the firearm during a September 2022 compliance check at his apartment. Slaughter is scheduled for sentencing on July 16 and faces up to 15 years in prison.
